Roses on Xperia

Lens 
70 mm is the choice for closeup one flower photography.

Auto focus
Use autofocus so that you can touch a specific portion of the frame and focus correctly on that portion.

Keep the frame dark
This tends to enhance the following 
- structure
- texture
- color depth.

Sun light through the plantain leaves
When sunlight filters into the roses through the plantain leaves,  the roses get a dramatic effect. 

Review and improve
Having these roses right at home presents me the opportunity to repeat takes easily.

Ideas 
Sun spot on the rose
There was a "drop" of sunlight that filtered into a petal.
Tried to focus on the spot and take a picture. 
Did not work out well but the idea definitely has potential.

Shadows between the petails
Closeups of the petal shadows were interesting.
